During the offseason, safety David Bruton made one thing clear: He wasn’t looking to play backup. As the most tenured Broncos on the active roster, Bruton wanted to be a starter.
Eight games into the season, the seventh-year safety has proven himself as an invaluable commodity on defense and special teams. His career-high two interceptions are tied for second on the Broncos and his six pass breakups trail only cornerback Aqib Talib’s eight.
