Colorado Reading Corps
What is the Colorado Reading Corps?
Colorado Reading Corps is a strategic program of Mile High United Way’s School Readiness Initiative. Through the Colorado Reading Corps, Mile High United Way is able to increase the human capacity of elementary schools by integrating diverse, smart, passionate and trained tutors into the classroom and schools. Reading Corps tutors help students become strong readers by providing k-3 students access to additional reading support in the form of one-on-one tutoring.
What’s the goal?
To get more kids across school districts reading at grade level.
The ultimate goal of this program is to improve student’s reading skills and their reading proficiency test scores. Success is measured by exceeding target growth rates for K-3rd grade students and scoring proficient on the Colorado Student Assessment in 3rd grade.
